Alan Bulmer

Alan has worked in the food industry for over 40 years and has been at Hawkins Watts for what feels "like forever" (since 2001). He is a self-confessed "pointy head", gaining qualifications in Food Technology and Marketing in the last century. In his career, Alan has had management roles in R&D, Operations and Sales & Marketing. He is proud to be one of a handful of IFT Certified Food Scientists in NZ, and is committed to giving back to the industry.

His passion is helping people solve complex technical problems, as well as teaching and inspiring the next generation of food technologists to be the best they can be.

Given that he is "follicly challenged", Alan wears many hats at Hawkins Watts, including mentoring the R&D team, looking after important accounts and managing relationships with key principals.

Alan is married to Sandy. They have two sons. In his spare time, Alan is a big supporter of the arts and an obsessive fisherman.
